Good on you for following your dreams, Veridian.  I love it when people get excited about their lives.  And you're right.  If you go to a convention or some kind of gathering, you won't have to worry that you stink of smoke when you meet people, and you won't have to try to sneak out to have a butt.  Oh, the freedom. Isn't it great?

Thank you everyone! Sorry about my delayed reply, I've been busy. Editing, approving the cover artwork, and recently, promoting the socks off of it.

It's things like this that make me glad I did quit. I won't have to worry about craving the nicodemon while I'm at an author's conference or appearing at a convention, *if* that ever happens. lol

Veridian, congratulations for finding success in your chosen field, and -- of course -- for staying smoke-free through all the trials and tribulations, rejections, rewrites, etc. along the way You are indomitable! Mommyme184, yes, it would be nice to fast-forward a week, but take it one day at a time, you'll get there. You have experience, you have support, and I'm sure you have strong reasons for making this change. Stay strong, and please know that you can call a Quit Coach for additional support if needed at 1-877-513-5333. Regards, Efram

Hi everyone! It's been a while since my last visit. So much has happened lately, I feel like I'm on a merry go round that keeps spinning faster and faster!

I'm still on my quit, almost 2 years and 7 months into it, already.  I don't miss them at all. In fact the smell of cigarette smoke makes me gag now. I guess I've inspired others to at least try quitting, so it's been a bit of a domino effect for good things going on.

The really big news is that after five years of writing, countless rejections, edits, revisions, a full rewrite, more edits, a title change, more rejections, finally one last title change and a submission on a whim, my first book will be coming out later this year. An e-book publisher decided to give me a chance, and I've been going crazy trying to get things ready for them with edits, character descriptions for the cover, talking things over with my editor, and a lot of other things.

It has been an amazing experience so far, and even though I'm scared to death, I'm so happy and excited this is finally happening after so many years of rejections and nasty remarks from family members.

I'm also back to writing, and I hope to have this WIP's rough draft done by March 10, so I can let it perk for a few weeks and get another story going when I'm not promoting book #1.

So yeah, that's why I haven't been around a lot. Life got in the way.

I hope everyone's doing wonderfully! Keep the quit going gang. Y'all have got this. One day at a time.
