Hi MarRyan,
 
I quit cold turkey so I had insomnia for the first month of my quit.  It was really frustrating.  The only thing I could think to do was to have naps when I could.  So I went to work tired, and by the time I got home, I couldn't wait to have a nap.  I know that's not ideal, but napping did help me get through it.  And I also napped on the weekends, to try to "catch up" on my sleep.  Eventually, my sleep patterns returned to normal, and yours will too.  This is just another phase we have to go through as we teach ourselves to live without smoking.

Good morning MarRyan - its not fun at all to have a disruptive sleep, especially several nights in a row. Unfortunately its one of the more common withdrawal symptoms, as your body is getting used to having no nicotine. You have already tried some great strategies, and likely others here in the community have been through a similar situation. Often, the worst is over by Day 3 or 4, so hoping you will start to see some restful nights soon. All the best to you, and congrats on Day 55! Sarah

The insomnia has hit me pretty hard this week. Today is day 55. I'm not craving the smokes at all. But this week is the first nicotine free week. No patches, no gum, no nothing. I can't sleep. I tried some over the counter sleep aid. I tried a few beers (and i'm not much of a drinker). I tried the warm bath and the soothing music. For the last 4 nights, i've been averaging about 2 - 3 hours of sleep. I'm bagged. Any tips or recommendations on how to get past this?
