Thank You Lillian!  It's not all in our heads then, something we need to remind ourselves of, and be tolerant and gentle with ourselves too.  Only a smoker or ex-smoker would understand this.

Hi, I came across this fact: You may take 15 puffs from a cigarette. If you smoke 20 cigarettes per day, that's 300 doses a day or 109,500 puffs a year. When you look at it in this way, it can make sense why the pull to smoke is so strong or challenging to overcome. That is quite a lot of habit to change, especially if you compound it by years of smoking! In spite of these intimidating numbers this can be changed. That is why the community is here to support you! Remember to be persistent and give yourself options. Options can be sipping on a water bottle, or chewing a coffee stir stick, a popsicle or a lollipop like Kojak, or keeping hands busy with a colouring book or puzzle... Most important, just wanted to remind all of you who are struggling, try not to berate yourself, as you can see with this one example, it is quite a big change to put into your day. We are here for you and we understand, Lillian
