Hi DaddyB,

I know it seems like a daunting task, but you can quit smoking.  You are motivated, which is half the battle.  Try to avoid high risk situations, and try to distract yourself.  And drink lots of water.  You quit once before, and you can do it again.  Be more stubborn than your addiction.

Smoke-Free Days: 278

Welcome DaddyB- congrats on deciding to quit smoking...you have come to the right place for support - our community members are so helpful and understanding and are here to help you along this quit journey. As Vix1976 mentioned, keeping your reasons for quitting top of mind can help keep up your motivation. Is there anything else you want to have in place before you go smoke-free (strategies, distractions, etc?). Thinking of you. You can do it! Sarah

Hi, I'm back once again to try to quit this disgusting habit of smoking. I've been a smoker for over 40 years with the exception of one quit for 3 years when in my 20's. I've tried pretty much everything out there to help me quit but have been unsuccessful and so I think I'm going to try sheer willpower and a little help from my friends here at SHO to get it right this time.

Wish me luck!
DaddyB
