I'm so glad your family and friends are okay.
 
It is really hard to quit smoking at the beginning,but it does get easier over time.  You are absolutely right, MissDTime, by quitting smoking you are saving your own life.  It is worth every difficult moment you experience at the beginning of your quit.  If you haven't already, you will start to become aware of the benefits of quitting.  Your smoker's cough will go away, and you will breathe easier.  And you will have a lot more time on your hands that you used to spend smoking.  You won't have such bad breath, and the nicotine stains on your fingers will go away.  And you will be free.
 
Hang in there, you are doing great, and you can get through this.

It's rough, but if I can go thru all of this and not smoke it will be awesome.
I might be a bit cranky and still get massive headaches but I'll take that over death.
I have a new appreciation for people who quit.
It's one of the hardest things I've ever done.
 
Oh and all of my friends/family are ok.

It is not always easy to find new coping strategies in stressful situations like this one, as Treepeo mentioned, but with time it does get easier.

Way to go on deciding to stay smoke-free!

I agree with Treepeo, these are the situations we need to learn to handle. I think with deep breaths as well over the long run such urges would go away. I think it's just a way we trained our body (a habit) to react to stressful situations. Therefore, we need to unlearn it. Yes, it was beyond horrific, and beyond our control.

Yes, it is truly horrifying.  I hope your friends are okay.
 
I am glad that you decided not to smoke.  Part of quitting is learning how to deal with stressful situations without reaching for a cigarette.  At first that's hard to do, but it does get easier over time.

I used to live there.
I am beyond horrified.
Still trying to reach some people.
Anyone else having a bad time today?
 
I still REFUSE to have a cigarette.
