Hey Treepeo,

The system locks you out after 5 wrong password attempts. I have unlocked your account, so you should be good to go again.

Hey Kyle, I was on the new system earlier tonight, no problem.  Now for some reason, it has locked me out.  It said to go to smokershelpline.ontario.cancer.ca but that didn't help me out at all.  I don't know how to get unlocked.  Going to bed now, but maybe I will have a response tomorrow night from you.  I know you must be super busy, so if I don't hear back from you, I will just try to get in again tomorrow.  Maybe it's just a glitch.

By the way, I know you have probably been inundated with questions and concerns re: the new system.  Switching to something new is always hard.  I really appreciate your patience.

Hi everyone,

Kishu, I had a peek at your user profile (clicked on 'edit profile'), and it says 15 cpd, 20 cigarettes per pack at $6.50 per pack.

Thank you for your help mdsunshine.

KISHU I AM NOT SURE IF THIS WILL HELP YOU BUT I WILL GIVE IT A TRY FOR YOU:  IF YOUR QUIT METER TODAY SAYS YOU HAVE NOT SMOKED 22,590 CIGARETTES AND TODAY IS YOUR DAY 1506 THEN I TOOK THE 22,590 AND DIVIDED IT BY THE 1506 AND GOT 14.48 SO THAT SHOULD BE HOW MANY CIGARETTES YOU SMOKED IN A DAY.  AS FOR HOW MUCH YOU PAID FOR YOUR CIGARETTES WELL I AM GUESSING YOU SMOKED ABOUT A HALF PACK A DAY AND AT TODAY'S RATE OF 15.00 A PACK THAT IS ONE SERIOUS PILE OF MONEY.  SURE HOPE THIS HELPS SWEETIE

Hello Kyle,
I quit some time ago but come to check my meter and visit the site every so often.  I can't recall how many cigarettes I smoked nor how much I paid for them. Is there somewhere that I can find that information?  That information will affect the results in my meter and I don't want to lose that.

Hey Treepeo,

Yes, there will absolutely be a quit meter, but it will look a bit different than your current meter, and have some new features. The key things to record are your quit date, cigs/day, cigs/pack, and cost per pack. Other than that, just your username and anything else you want to keep as a memento.

Hi Treepeo, Good question, and yes you are for sure not the only one who experiences challenges with changes to computer programs. I'll allow Kyle to address the specifics regarding the quit meter. But in terms of info to record, please keep a record for yourself of any/all information/details that you plan to enter as part of your profile into the new site. Hope this helps a bit for now, we understand your concerns and I am sure Kyle will be adding more details to answer your question regarding the quit meter. Thanks, Sophia Quit Coach

I made a note of my quit date.  But, what other details would I need to record?  Once I sign into the new system and input my quit date and what it used to cost me for a pack, etc., is there anything else you can think of that I would need to record prior to the new system coming into effect?  My biggest concern right now, I guess, is that my quit meter will be where it should be once the switch is made.  Because I really do look at my quit meter a lot.  It is very important to me.

I guess I am feeling a little anxious about this new system.  This site means so much to me, I don't want to be disappointed.  So if you can think of things we should write down in advance, please let us know.  I'm sure I'm not the only one who has a bit of trouble with changes to computer programs.  Thanks.

Hello again everyone!

Great news! We have a launch date for the new SmokersHelpline.ca. Next Tuesday, November 28th, our new site will be fully live and operational for you to register, explore, begin new conversations, and continue your quit journey.

Please take some time this week to record your quit date and any other details of your account that you would like to take with you, as this site will no longer be accessible after mid-day November 27th.

Reminder: You will need to create a new account on SmokersHelpline.ca - none of your details from SHO will carry over to the new site.
