Congrats Japa!  You seem to be doing well!!  Way to go!

Princess and Girl Power - yeah, my routine changed with my husband as well.  I felt sad because I was doing different things to avoid smoking.  He bought the whole LOST series and we have been brought "back together".  We are also going to start walking together.

Girl Power.....my god your story is excatly mine.  I have been up in the bedroom while my husband is downstairs...we always shared conversation in the garage in the evenings as well while smoking.  I am on day seven, so I am just finishing my first week.  I have been so down in the dumps....I feel like I've lost my best friend.....

Thanks to everyone for their kind words.

And to my quit buddy papa, congratulations to you as well on making it through Heck Week.  We've done so well and have made it out of the worst of it...hopefully. ;)

Girl Power... I did feel down at night as well.  My husband and I started getting into the practice of making a really nice pot of tea and sitting down in the kitchen for a chat... That made a bit of a difference.  I think you should tell your husband how much you miss those chats and that you need to find some kind of replacement.  I can't remember - did/does your husband smoke? (Or did you quit together).  Another idea would be to put on your coats and tuques and go for a walk after dinner... even if it's just around the block.  Let me know how it goes...  I also think your mood will start to life towards the end of your Heck Week.

Shadow - congrats on your Week One of marathon training!

Have a great smoke free day.

Hi Japa

Welcome to the Sho community although I am a little late. Congrats on completing Heck week.
Sounds like you are doing great and you should be very proud. Remember to keep your guard up at all times. Nicodemon is lurking in the shadows just waiting for the opportunity for a comeback when you are most vulnerable.

Congrats on your new job and resisting temptation.

Hi .Girl power

Congrats on 9 days smoke free. Yes I did feel somewhat depressed at first and avoided people. I was in my own personal hell and could only share that with Sho members because it is anonymous. It's like mourning a death. You think you will never be happy again but you will and life will be even better.

Are you and hubby both quitting. Why not replace the talk in the garage with a nice walk together. It is important to keep disassociating what you used to do when you were a smoker and create new things to do. I assure it will gradually get better.

Keep reading and posting. We understand as some of us are where you are and some have been where you are if that makes sense.

You have the power.

Hey Japa,

Congrats I am in heck week and can't wait till this passes.  Did you feel down in the dumps at night all I want to do is sit on the couch and not talk to anyone.
Finding it hard my husband and I don't talk at night any more he watches tv down stair and I am up stairs.  We would always talk in the garage after dinner having a smoke any advice out there.

Girl Power
