Hi Valerie,

I think this is a terrific idea!  First of all, it shows that you are really supportive of the person who is trying to quit.  You are acknowledging that they will face challenges and struggles, and that you are not taking their efforts for granted.

Secondly, it's a fun way to give someone little gifts that might help them distract themselves when the cravings hit.

I might include a variety Dell crossword book, or word search puzzles.

I truly love the concept of a Care Package for People Trying to Quit Smoking.  It's both thoughtful and cool.

Hello everyone,

A colleague here at Smokers’Helpline created this $8 “Care Package” for their father-in-law who is trying to quit smoking. This “Care Package” is a tool box that holds various items for distraction and ways to cope with cravings. What is nice about this “Care Package” is that you can personalize it by including the things that are most helpful for you and that it is budget friendly. It is a great way to plan and prepare for your quit journey or helping someone else prepare for their journey.

What are your thoughts on this “Care Package” and what would you include in yours?

Kindly,

Valerie
