I like how you say that you journaled your feelings after each slip....what better tool.  That makes so much sense....what better way to remind yourself of those feelings.  I think that is a great idea.  Thanks for sharing...

Keep on quitting!......Hey Yay me...you are almost mid way of Heck week!  Way to go!

Sparky2 you just made my night :) cannot say thank you enough. The encouragement means the world to me. Thank you also for staying around to help us newbies get going and showing us it is possible. Love seeing your stats. I know I must be patient and my own numbers will grow with time but right now it seems so far away. I do want this and as one of the other quitters mentioned the other night "this is my time to quit" and I believe it in my heart this time :)

Yay me one week and going strong. I love how you were able to turn a negative into a positive by seeing the slips for what they were and using them to your advantage. That shows courage to face up to them and say OK I slipped but I will not allow that to defeat me. I have followed your quit since you started and you are doing so well with this.

To many they would look at this and say one week big deal. To me one week is so awesome. I have been doing this for about 16 months and seen so many not make it past three days. I also have become pretty good at judging who is determined to quit and who is not ready yet. From what I have seen you are showing you have what it takes and look forward to being on the journey with you. Keep going and will be around anytime you need some help. Peace.

Thank you gals :) and honestly Starlyn, both slips involved nights out drinking with friends and the boyfriend and because I was drinking I thought "eeeeeveryone" else would be smoking. The lies I told myself to justify letting myself slip...how tired I was of fighting the nicodemon and I wanted to let loose and relax for the night (which turned into 3 days of smoking both slips) I journaled how defeated n depressed I'd felt after each time so I am able to revisit just how low I felt just incase I ever forget...for some reason the temptation to smoke is just too strong when I drink? It's a trigger so I'm giving it the boot. You and Violet are HUGE sources of inspiration too along this journey. Both of you have such a way with words + nothing keeps you down. There are so many moments I cannot find the words I need and then 1 of the 2 of you hit it on the nail. Not to mention the amazing ever climbing stats! So thank you :) And Josie thank you so much for the kind words and encouragement-that has made all the difference with this quit-the overwhelming support. Finally it doesn't feel like me against the world. Never thought I would find a place where there was such a great group of folks on the same journey.

*happy dance* (thank goodness for computerland so that no one can actually see this fiasco ) I have conquered HELL WEEK!! And I can say with conviction I will NEVER be in this neck of the woods again!Although they felt crippling at the time, slipping not once, but TWICE since my original date has really been a blessing in disguise. Instead of pouting in a corner it opened my eyes to reassass what are the real triggers in my life? what AM i going to do when I have a nasty craving? Am I serious about quitting? I think I took the initial prep stages of the milestones for granted. Even though I was very excited I rushed thru them and figured I would just quit because I had the desire to and assumed my resolve and fervor would magically carry me thru the tough times.
So THIS time around I have signed up for the text mssging support (complete with key words for emergencies!! ) I come on to SHO first chance I have in the morning to pledge my committment to my quit for the day EVERY DAY. I read all the forums and discussions constantly. Reread the positive messages and hall of fame or famous quotes when in need. I am working on the self talk. ALWAYS have loads of cold water to drink. Im eating better-3 good balanced meals and healthy snacks (with emergency candies if need be) I am constantly consciously deep breathing and savouring all the scents surrounding me every day that I have never been able to enjoy. I reread Allen Carr. I have given up drinking altogether until further notice. I am exercising even if only 10 minutes every day. (which has become easier 10fold- we adopted a new dog  and I have committed myself to daily walking or jogging with my new lil boy )Giving myself extra time to do the things I must or need to avoid added pressure.
This quit feels brand new and unlike any I have ever attempted in the past. There is a fire that has been lit within and there is nothing that is going to stand in my way between me and that great big glorious smokey mountain
I am ready for you heck week muahahahaha
