Congrats on day 14...  Huge accomplishment.  You are so right about not being yourself.  I swear sometimes I have multiple personalities  through this quitting thing....lol  I can't say I was really cranky though.  I tend to stay quiet rather than say something I know I won't mean.  That really helped me because I didn't have to constantly tell people why I was cranky.  Aside from the lozenges I thing good old fashioned will power(which I tend to not have a lot of) is what is working.  When I get a really strong craving I sometimes grab my crossword puzzle or my book and read until the pang passes.  I think that anyone who makes the attempt to quit deserves major kudos because what we are doing is difficult and incredibly hard.  Pat yourself on the back and YEAH US!!!!!

Firstly HUGENORMOUS Congrats on this milestone :D second, praise the lord the stupidity ends....I lose my train of thought, have trouble finding the word or finishing sentences when I'm excited, sometimes my eyes go out of focus when I'm concentrating-its like I hit an exhaustion was :s very frustrating. There's moments I just don't feel like myself...I pray zombie month is no longer than a month for us all LOL (as they say each quit is individual so withdrawl symptoms last various amounts of time) so the lozenges have helped you, any other helpful tips that kept you going that first month?

I know what you mean about the fog.  It's like you are another person at times and you don't recognize your behaviors...lol....

We are having to learn to do things in a different way all over again ( without the normal regular routine and habit of the nicodemon).  It gets better.  Just think about it, depending on how long you have been smoking, it's been part of your life for so long,....part of your daily routine, your tasks, responses, schedule, it's been your friend for so long and now you are having to do stuff without it...it does take an adjustment period but it gets better and better.

Oh and by the way, I have typos all the time still....

Congrats on a month and thanks Morecoffee, so good to hear that the brain thing does get better. I think I'm in the throes of it right now in my second week of quitting. Everyone says I'm pretty calm considering I'm recently quit, but what they don't know is I am completly stunned and lacking focus and beyond caring if I make much sense.
On the plus side, I'm getting great sleep these days as I don't get the urge to wake up in the night and have a smoke to get back to sleep.
So weird, I thought the extra oxygen would make me perky and sharp, but zombie brain it is. Shows me how dependant I truly was an how it affected my body.
Kowing that this too shall pass gives me hope.
Congrats again morecoffe on your amazing month, I can't wait until I get there too!

I truly can't believe I made it this far.  First month under my belt and it feels great.  I have to admit though there were a few dicey moments....  You know I used to think all that money I spent on school made me smart.  But apparently I was way off.  Now I know it was the smoking that made me start because since I quit I seem to have turned into a blabbering idiot who for a little while couldn't form a complete sentence.  I swear after about two weeks in I stopped using verbs...lol.  Thank god for spell check because at one point if I wan in trouble I probably couldn't have even typed HELP properly.  But on the upside the fog seems to be lifting and suddenly I am able to have an intelligent conversation again..  For anyone just starting the "stupid phase" as I like to call it does pass and if you can laugh at yourself through it it really is quite funny.  The biggest change I have noticed is my sense of smell..  Suddenly I can smell smoke from a mile away and I am very aware of how bad it smells.  I apologize to all the people who had to sit next to me for years and smell that...  To all the newbies out there hand in there and it really does work if you take on craving at a time.  The Nicorette Lozenges have helped me immensely through the cravings.

Keep up the Quit
